Effects of Shenqi Zhigan decoction combined with traditional Chinese medicine fumigation on postoperative swelling of affected limbs,pain and complications in patients with humeral intercondylar fractures
Objective To analyze the effects of Shenqi Zhigan decoction combined with traditional Chinese medicine fumigation on postoperative swelling of affected limbs,pain and complications in patients with humeral intercondylar fractures.Methods 176 patients with humeral intercondylar fractures who underwent reduction and internal fixation and whose postoperative syndrome differentiation was qi stagnation and blood stasis were selected in the hospital from July 2019 to July 2021.According to the random number table method,the patients were divided into control group and traditional Chinese medicine group,with 88 cases in each group.The control group was treated with conventional anti-inflammatory and analgesic drugs after surgery,and the traditional Chinese medicine group was given Shenqi Zhigan decoction combined with traditional Chinese medicine fumigation.The scores of TCM syndromes,Visual Analogue Scale(VAS)score,circumference of the affected limb,postoperative recovery status,coagulation function and incidence rates of postoperative complications were compared between the two groups.Results After intervention,the scores of TCM syndromes in the traditional Chinese medicine group were lower than those in the control group(P＜0.05).At 3 d,5 d and 7 d after surgery,the VAS score and the maximum circumference of the affected limb were lower in the traditional Chinese medicine group than those in the control group(P＜0.05).The swelling elimination time and pain relief time of affected limbs in the traditional Chinese medicine group were shorter compared with those in the control group(P＜0.05).After intervention,the prothrombin time,thrombin time and activated partial thromboplastin time in the traditional Chinese medicine group were shorter compared to the control group,and the fibrinogen was lower than that in the control group(P＜0.05).The total incidence rate of complications in the traditional Chinese medicine group was lower than that in the control group(5.68％vs 17.05％,P＜0.05).Conclusion Shenqi Zhigan decoction combined with traditional Chinese medicine fumigation for postoperative patients with humeral intercondylar fractures can relieve the swelling and pain of the affected limbs,improve the coagulation function,and reduce the incidence rates of deep vein thrombosis and complications.
