Objective To explore the effects of knee joint acupuncture combined with continuous passive movement(CPM)machine on pain, knee joint function, and inflammatory indicators in patients undergoing total knee arthroplasty(TKA).Methods From August 2021 to June 2023,104 TKA patients admitted to our hospital were collected and grouped into a CPM machine group and an observers group using a random number table method.52 patients in the CPM machine group received postoperative rehabilitation exercise using a CPM,while 52 patients in the observers group received knee joint acupuncture treatment on the basis of the CPM machine group. The total score of Qi deficiency and blood stasis syndrome, numerical pain intensity scale(NRS)score, inflammation indicators, affected knee joint range of motion(ROM),Harris hip joint score(HHS)and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results Three days, one week and two weeks after surgery. The total score of Qi deficiency and blood stasis syndrome,NRS score, serum C-reactive protein(CRP),and interleukin-6(IL-6)levels in both groups were lower than those on the first day after surgery(P<0.05),and the observers group were lower than the CPM machine group(P<0.05).At one week and two weeks after surgery, the ROM and HHS scores of the affected knees in both groups were higher than those on the first day before surgery(P<0.05),and the observers group were higher than the CPM machine group(P<0.05).There were no differences in the incidence of adverse reactions between observation group and CPM group(11.54%vs 9.62%,P>0.05).Conclusion The application of knee joint acupoint acupuncture combined with CPM machine treatment for TKA patients can obviously reduce the level of early postoperative inflammatory indicators, obviously improve the symptoms of Qi deficiency and blood stasis, and pain, and effectively promote the recovery of knee function.
