Effect of Nalbuphine on oxidative stress and agitation during recovery period of general anesthesia in burn patients undergoing scab resection and skin grafting
Objective To investigate the effects of nalbuphine on restlessness and oxidative stress in burn patients after general anesthesia.Methods A total of 72 burn patients admitted to our hospital from March 2021 to March 2022 undergoing scab resection and skin grafting were selected and divided into Nalbuphine group(n=36)and control group(n=36)by random number method.The patients in the Nalbuphine group were given 0.20 mg/kg intravenous injection of Nalbuphine 10 min before induction of general anesthesia,while the control group was given equal amount of normal saline.The incidence of agitation was compared between the two groups.Before extubation(T1),immediately after extubation(T2),10 min after extubation(T3),30 min after extubation(T4),Richmond resting-sedation score(RASS),Ramsay sedation score,oxidative stress response and recovery time before and after extubation.The adverse reactions of nausea and vomiting,respiratory depression,drowsiness and vertigo were counted in two groups.Results Compared with the control group,the incidence of agitation was lower in Nalbuphine group,RASS score was decreased at T3 and T4,and Ramsay score increased at T1 and T4(P<0.05).The malondialdehyde(MDA)and lipid peroxidase(LPO)significantly decreased and superoxide dismutase(SOD)significantly increased in both groups before and after surgery.In the postoperative recovery period,SOD in Nalbuphine group was higher than that in control group,MDA and LPO were lower than that in control group(P<0.05).There were no significant differences in the incidence of recovery time,nausea and vomiting,respiratory depression,lethargy and vertigo between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion Nalbuphine has an ideal sedative effect on burn patients undergoing scab resection and skin grafting,reducing agitation and oxidative stress in the recovery period of general anesthesia,and it does not affect the recovery time of anesthesia and the incidence of adverse reactions.
