Objective To investigate the expression of glucose transporter-4(GLUT4)and nectin-4 in bladder cancer and their relationship with clinicopathological characteristics and prognosis. Methods The paraffin samples of 90 bladder cancer patients and their corresponding paracancerous normal tissues treated in our hospital from May 2018 to August 2021 were collected as research objects. To compare the positive expression rate of GLUT4 and nectin-4 in bladder cancer tissues and adjacent tissues, analyze the relationship between the expression of GLUT4 and nectin-4 and clinicopathological characteristics and prognosis, and analyze the influencing factors of patients'prognosis with COX regression model. Results The positive rates of GLUT4 and nectin-4 in bladder cancer tissues were 75.56%and 80.00%respectively,which were higher than those of GLUT4 and nectin-4 in normal adjacent tissues(25.56%and 31.11%,P<0.05).The expression of GLUT4 in bladder cancer was related to pathological grade, clinical stage and lymph node metastasis(P<0.05).The expression of nectin-4 in bladder cancer tissue was related to the maximum tumor size, pathological grade, clinical stage and lymph node metastasis(P<0.05);During the follow-up to October 2023,the median disease-free survival time of patients with positive expression of GLUT4 and nectin-4 in bladder cancer tissue was 32.52 months and 34.18 months, which were higher than those of patients with negative expression of GLUT4 and nectin-4(26.25 months and 27.47 months,P<0.05);COX multivariate regression analysis showed that clinical stage(muscle invasion),lymph node metastasis(presence),GLUT4(positive expression)and connectin-4(positive expression)were independent risk factors affecting the prognosis of bladder cancer patients(P<0.05).Conclusion Both GLUT4 and nectin-4 are highly expressed in bladder cancer tissue. These two indicators are closely related to the development and prognosis of bladder cancer patients, and are independent risk factors affecting the prognosis of patients.
