A Study on the Regulation of Immune Dysfunction in IgA Nephropathy by Traditional Chinese Medicine
IgA nephropathy(IgAN)is an important cause of chronic kidney disease and end-stage kidney disease. The pathogenesis of this disease is complex, and the immune mechanism has been a research hotspot at home and abroad. In recent years, traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)practitioners have explored the etiology and pathogenesis of immune dysfunction in this disease from the aspects of the imbalance between healthy Qi and pathogenic factors, disharmony between nutrient and defensive Qi,dysfunction of the Zang-Fu organs, dysfunction of the triple energizer, and theory of latent pathogen. It has been confirmed that TCM may play a role in regulating IgAN immune disorders by improving mucosal immunity, regulating B cells, regulating T lymphocytes, and inhibiting abnormal activation of the complement system through clinical and experimental studies. This article reviews the research progress of TCM intervention in IgAN immune mechanism, and prospects its future research direction, which will provide reference for further clinical practice and basic research of TCM.
