Analysis of Wu Zhen's Academic Thought on Epidemic in Shang Han Zhi Zhang
Wu Zhen's Shang Han Zhi Zhang contains rich thoughts on the differentiation and treatment of epidemic diseases. The theories on the prevention and treatment of epidemics presented in the book still hold significant research value and practical relevance today.Wu Zhen posits that epidemic diseases are similar to,but not identical to,ordinary Shanghan, and explores the internal and external causes of epidemics.Beyond using traditional disease classification methods,he innovatively proposed the differentiation of epidemic diseases based on hands and feet.Tongue diagnosis of epidemics is one of Wu Zhen's most representative academic features in epidemic diagnosis and treatment, providing new perspectives for future clinical diagnosis and treatment of epidemics.Wu Zhen selects treatment methods based on the disease, flexibly applying diagnostic techniques such as the six meridians,tri-jiao,and the Wei Qi Ying Xue,prescribing comprehensive treatment strategies for epidemics. This paper delves into Wu Zhen's academic thoughts on treating epidemics in Shang Han Zhi Zhang from four aspects:the causes of epidemics, epidemic differentiation, tongue diagnosis of epidemics, and treatment strategies, aiming to provide insights for contemporary diagnosis and treatment of epidemics and to enrich and enhance the traditional Chinese medicine system for epidemic prevention and treatment.
