Analysis of Wu Jutong's Thought on Treating Epidemic from the Perspective of Yunqi Theory
Wu Jutong,a medical expert from the Qing dynasty,emphasized the use of Qi theory in the treatment of epidemics.Wu believed that the main cause of epidemic diseases was the mixture of pestilential Qi and filth.Epidemics can be divided into warm and cold types,both of which are closely related to Qi theory.The prescription of medicine needs to be tailored according to the characteristics of Qi theory in the occurrence of epidemics.Wu elaborated on the theory of epidemics from the perspective of the five movements and six Qi theory of each year,combined with the four seasons theory of the larger time range of the Three-Yuan-Jiazi class,providing an important reference for enriching contemporary epidemic theory.
