TCM Translation Studies in the Process of Chinese Translation Theories
Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)translation studies form an indispensable part of Chinese translation theory system.This paper presents the development of TCM translation thoughts since the reform,discusses the relationship between TCM translation studies and Chinese translation theories,and analyzes the influence and limitation of TCM translation theoretical studies as well as its role in the process of Chinese translation theories.TCM translation studies,originated from practice,firstly focused on translation methods and techniques.Under the influence of translation studies,the researchers have gradually improved the methodology,expanded the scope of research,and produced TCM translation thoughts even theories.TCM translation thoughts,produced by the application of translation studies in the field of TCM,enrich Chinese translation theory.However,more theoretical and systematic research need to be further encouraged for the construction of TCM translation theories as well as discipline development.
