Analysis of the Theoretical Connotation of "Interaction between Host and Guest" and "Muddy between Host and Guest"
The theory of "Interaction between Host and Guest" originated from Wu Youke's Wen Yi Lun. Inspired by it,later medical scholar Xue Shengbai proposed the theory of "Muddy between Host and Guest",which was formed due to the deficiency of healthy Qi and the stagnation of Qi and blood. The healthy Qi and guest evil were glued to the blood vessels, and the use of agile attacking substances in medication eliminated the obstruction of blood vessels. But the two have their own differences. Wu believes that the evil fire of "Interaction between Host and Guest" only exists in the blood vessels of the twelve meridians, and the disease is located on the surface. Medication is based on the elimination of blood stasis and evil, and pays more attention to tonifying the deficiency of Qi and blood in the human body. Xue inherited Wu's understanding of the theoretical connotation of "Interaction between Host and Guest" expanding it from an epidemic to a damp heat disease. He believed that "Muddy between Host and Guest" was due to spleen deficiency and the deepening of dampness heat in the Jueyin meridian. The disease was located inside, and medication focused on resolving blood stasis and unblocking collaterals, especially targeting the syndrome of Jueyin meridian stasis.
