The Interweaving of Education and Vocation:Two Key Issues in the Development of Vocational Education
In the process of building a modern vocational education system,the correct understanding of the concept of vocation and vocational education is not only the basis for consolidating that vocational ed-ucation is a type of education,but also the guidance for coordinating the relationship between vocational ed-ucation and other types of education.Based on the understanding of the relationship between education and vocation,it is particularly necessary to deeply analyze the two key issues affecting the development of voca-tional education:first,we need to determine whether vocation is the purpose or means of vocational educa-tion;secondly,how to correctly handle the relationship between general education and vocational education.In order to answer these basic questions,it is necessary to establish a broad and new vocational view,a"type+concept"view of great vocational education,and a vocational education curriculum view of integrat-ing general education and vocational education.
