Effects of Electroacupuncture at Fengchi Point(GB20)on Blood Pressure,Hemodynamics of Vertebral Artery and Carotid Artery in Rabbits with Cervical Hypertension
Objective:To investigate the effects of electroacupuncture at Fengchi Point on blood pressure(BP),hemodynamics of carotid artery and vertebral artery in rabbits with cervical hypertension. Methods:A cervical hypertension model was established, and 12 rabbits with successful modeling were divided into a model group and an electroacupuncture group according to the random number table method, with 6 rabbits in each group.Six healthy rabbits were selected as the normal group. The rabbits in the electroacupuncture group were treated with electroacupuncture at Fengchi Point, while the rabbits in the model group and the normal group were only fixed for the same time. The changes of peak systolic velocity(PSV),end-diastolic velocity(EDV),re-sistance index(RI)and femoral artery systolic blood pressure(SBP)of vertebral artery and carotid artery in each group were observed. Results:Compared with the normal group, the carotid artery systolic blood flow velo-city of rabbits in the EA group was significantly improved[(61.30±9.62)cm/s],(P<0.05);compare with pro-treatment,the femoral artery systolic BP of rabbits in the EA group was significantly decreased[(109.60±4.56)mm Hg](P<0.05),the femoral artery systolic BP of rabbits in the model group was no significantly changed[(112.00±6.07)mm Hg].Conclusion:EA at Fengchi acupoint can effectively reduce the blood pressure of rab-bits with cervical hypertension, and its antihypertensive effect may be related to the improvement of hemodynamics indexes in the cervical region.
