Evaluation of Prescriptions of Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs in Outpatient Department of Community Hospital Based on Six-Level Information Platform
Objective:To analyze and evaluate the distributional characteristics, medication characteristics and drug use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs(NSAIDs)of outpatient patients in a hospital based on the real-world data during the two time periods,so as to provide reference for clinical rational drug use. Methods:The basic data of patients prescribed with NSAIDs in the outpatient department of a hospital, from 01 December 2021 to 15 January 2022(time period A)and 01 December 2022 to 15 January 2023(time period B),were collected retrospectively, including sex and age.The varieties, frequency and days of drug use,and the defined daily dose(DDD)were summarized for NSAIDs,and the defined daily dose system(DDDs),defined daily cost(DDC)and drug utilization index(DUI)were calculated. The use of NSAIDs in the two periods was compared, and the analysis and evaluation of drug use were performed on the basis of medicines of key varieties. Results:NSAIDs were used by 5600 and 10 916 patients during the time period A and time period B,respectively, covering 13 and 28 varieties, respectively. The number of varieties and the amount of dose soared from time period B,during which, the top 3 medicines in terms of increase in DDDs were Aspirin Enteric-coated Tablets(strength 100 mg),Diclofenac Sodium Dual Release Enteric-coated Capsules and Ibuprofen Sustained-release Capsules, and the top 3 medicines with regard to the increase in DDDs were Ibuprofen Suspension(929.05%),Ibuprofen Sustained-release Capsules(322.10%),and Pracetamol,Pseudoephedrine Hydrochloride,Dextromethrophan Hydrobromide and Chlorphenamine Maleate Tablets(Ⅲ)(319.92%).The use rate of compound preparation rose to the first place(39.22%).The DDC value was the highest for Indobufen Tablets(31.47 yuan)whereas the lowest for Aspirin Enteric-coated Tablets(25 mg)(0.26 yuan). The most DUI of NSAIDs was<1,indicating that the NSAIDs was used rationally in the hospital. Conclusions:The prescriptions of NSAIDs in the outpatient department of the hospital were basically rational within the target time period.
