Clinical Analysis of Skin Adverse Reactions Caused by Traditional Chinese Medicine Fumigation Agents
Objective:To investigate the occurrence and clinical manifestations of skin adverse drug reaction(ADR)caused by traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)fumigation agents,so as to provide reference for the safety and rational use of TCM fumigation agents in clinic. Methods:A retrospective analysis was conducted on the data of patients treated with TCM fumigation agents in 5 treatment wards of the department of osteology of a hospital from January 1,2018 to December 31,2021.The analysis focused on the occurrence, symptom onset time, clinical manifestations and outcomes of ADR,and proposed preventive measures. Results:A total of 2894 patients were treated with TCM fumigation agents during hospitalization in 5 treatment wards of the department of osteology.Among them,75 patients(2.59%)experienced ADR.The incidence of ADR in female patients was higher compared with male patients. The shortest time from the use of TCM fumigation agents to the occurrence of ADR symptoms was 6 hours after medication, the longest time was the 4 days after medication, with a median time of 2.3 days. There were 31 cases of simple rash,39 cases of rash accompanied by skin pruritus, and 5 cases of skin ulceration. No serious ADR occurred, and the symptoms were relieved after discontinuation of TCM fumigation agents and symptomatic treatment. Conclusion:TCM fumigation agents is prone to cause skin ADR.Prior to use,it is recommended that doctors conducts a detailed inquiry into the patient's condition, screen and investigate potential risk factors for allergic reactions, and enhance the monitoring and prevention of ADR caused by TCM fumigation agents.
