Effect of Huaiqihuang Granules in Combination with Methylprednisolone Sodium Succinate on Clinical Symptoms,Inflammatory Factors and Immune Function of Children with Lobar Pneumonia caused by Mycoplasma pneumonia Infection
Objective:To investigate the effects of Huaiqihuang granules combined with methylprednisolone sodium succinate on clinical symptoms,inflammatory factors and immune function of children diagnosed with lobar pneumonia caused by Mycoplasma pneumonia infection.Methods:A total of 150 children with lobar pneumonia caused by Mycoplasma pneumonia infection admitted to our hospital from January 2020 to December 2022 were included in this study.They were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group,with 75 cases in each group.The control group was treated with conventional treatment combined with methylprednisolone sodium succinate,and the observation group was treated with Huaiqihuang granules in addition to conventional treatment combined with methylprednisolone sodium succinate.The study compared the traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)syndrome score,inflammatory factors[high mobility group protein B1(HMGB1),procalcitonin(PCT)and interleukin-17(IL-17),IL-35],immune function[CD3+,CD4+,CD4+/CD8+],improvement time of clinical symptoms[fever,cough and panting,and lung shadow]and curative effect between the two groups.Results:Before treatment,the scores of TCM symptoms were compared between the two groups,and no statistical significance was found(P>0.05).Both groups showed a decrease in the main symptom score,secondary symptom score and total score of TCM syndromes after treatment(P<0.05).After treatment,the scores of main symptom,secondary symptom and total symptom in observation group were lower than those in control group(P<0.05).Before treatment,there was no statistical significance in inflammatory factors between the two groups(P>0.05).After treatment,HMGB1,PCT and IL-17 decreased,while IL-35 increased(P<0.05).And IL-35 in observation group was higher than that in control group,HMGB1,PCT and IL-17 were lower than that in control group(P<0.05).Before treatment,the immune function of the two groups was compared,and no statistical significance was found(P>0.05).The levels of CD3+,CD4+,CD4+/CD8+ increased after treatment,with the observation group showing higher levels than the control group(P<0.05).The duration of fever,cough and panting disappearance,and lung shadow disappearing was shorter in the observation group compared to the control group.Additionally,the total effective rate was significantly higher in the observation group than in the control group,with statistical(P<0.05).Conclusion:Huaiqihuang granules combined with methylprednisolone sodium succinate can attenuate the inflammatory response in children with lobar pneumonia caused by Mycoplasma pneumonia infection,improve immune function,and facilitate the resolution of clinical symptoms.
