Study on the Value of Prescription Review Criteria Establishment in Promoting Clinical Rational Use of Chinese Patent Medicines in Orthopedics Department
Objective:To explore the value of establishing the prescription review criteria for Chinese patent medicines in Orthopedics Department in promoting the clinical rational use of such drugs.Methods:Based on orthopedic guidelines,expert consensus recommendation and clinical prescriptions,the prescription review criteria for Chinese patent medicines in Orthopedics Department were established,and the clinical pharmacists involved in the review were trained on a series of relevant knowledge.In the three months(i.e.from October to December 2022 and from May to July 2023)before and after the implementation of the criteria,3000 prescriptions of Chinese patent medicines in Orthopedics Department each were selected for systematic review and analysis with reference to the criteria.Results:The rational rate for prescription of Chinese patent medicines in Orthopedics Department from October to December 2022 was 96.13%.In the subsequent review from May to July 2023,the rational rate for prescription of such drugs increased to 98.10%,and the number of irrational prescriptions decreased significantly.Conclusion:The established prescription review criteria effectively promoted the clinical rational use of Chinese patent medicines in Orthopedics Department and greatly improved the physician's prescription accuracy,thereby ensuring the medication safety in patients.
