Application of SWOT Analysis in Full-Sample Prescription Comment on Antimicrobial Agents
Objective:To explore the practical effect of SWOT analysis in the full-sample prescription comment on antimicrobial agents. Methods:A total of 5297 antimicrobial prescriptions from January to December in 2021 were retrieved from the computerized physician order entry and included into the pre-intervention group, and the conventional prescription comment was carried out.Based on the SWOT model, the strengths(S),weaknesses(W),opportunities(O)and threats(T)of the full-sample prescription comment on antimicrobial agents in the hospital were analyzed.According to the results of SWOT analysis, the optimization measures to improve the rationality of prescription were drawn up.A total of 4657 antimicrobial prescriptions from January to December in 2022 were included into the post-intervention group, where optimization measures were implemented, and the prescriptions were reviewed and continuously improved. The prescription comment results for the two groups were analyzed, and the effect of the optimization measures was evaluated. Results:After SWOT analysis performed, the irrational rate of antimicrobial use was significantly lower than that before intervention(P<0.05),and the scores achieved in the assessment of physician's knowledge on the antimicrobial use were significantly higher than those before intervention(P<0.05).Conclusion:In the antimicrobial prescription comment,SWOT analysis can provide rationality for standardized management of antimicrobial agents, promote rational clinical use of antimicrobial agents and ensure medication safety among patients.
