Practice Experience of Clinical Pharmacists in Managing Adverse Drug Reactions in Patients with Intra-Abdominal Infection Caused by Multi-Drug Resistant Bacteria
Objective:To explore the role of clinical pharmacists in formulating treatment regimen and managing adverse reactions in the case of coagulation disorder caused by high-dose tigecycline in patients with intra-abdominal infection caused by multi-drug resistant bacteria.Methods:The anti-infective treatment of a patient with intraperitoneal infection with multidrug-resistant bacteria was retrospectively analyzed,and the experience of dealing with adverse reactions caused by high-dose tigecycline was summarized.The clinical pharmacist judged that the abnormal coagulation function was related to tigecycline through a detailed analysis of the patient's condition and medication,and recommended the doctor to adjust the treatment plan.Results:According to the individualized medication recommendations of the clinical pharmacist,the patient discontinued tigecycline,adjusted the treatment regimen,gradually recovered the coagulation function,and the infection was finally effectively controlled,and the patient was discharged from the hospital with improvement.Conclusion:Close cooperation between clinical pharmacists and healthcare professionals,active participation in the formulation of anti-infective treatment regimen for patients,and pharmaceutical care and follow-up can improve the patient compliance and guarantee their medication safety,which is of positive significance for further improving the therapeutic effect in patients with intra-abdominal infection caused by multi-drug resistant bacteria.
