Clinical Application of Agomelatine in Outpatients of a Psychiatric Hospital
Objective:To analyze the use of agomelatine in outpatients of a psychiatric hospital so as to provide reference for promoting clinical rational drug use. Methods:The data of use of agomelatine in outpatients in a hospital from March 2021 to February 2022 were collected to statistically analyze patient gender, age, diagnosis, concomitant medications, and liver function test. Results:Data from a total of 2352 outpatient patients treated with agomelatine were collected, with the number of cumulative visits being 5546 and the application rate of agomelatine being 1.96%.There were 963 males and 1389 females, and the ratio of male to female was 1:1.44.The mean age of patients was(42.59±17.41)years.Agomelatine was used for unapproved indications in 1692 patients(71.94%)and for unapproved populations in 220 patients(9.35%).29 patients(1.23%)had contraindications.1884 patients(80.10%)concomitantly used other drugs affecting liver function.only 162(6.89%)patients had clear liver function before obtaining prescribed agomelatine, and 23.85%(62/260)of patients had blood biochemical abnormalities at follow-up visits. Conclusion:There is irrational use of agomelatine in the outpatient of the hospital. Most of the patients concomitantly used other drugs affecting liver function, only a few patients underwent liver function test before using agomelatine and at follow-up visits. In clinical setting,off-label drug use should be regulated, medications should be avoided when a contraindication is present, and relevant propaganda and education on liver function assessment before and after medication should be actively carried out in order to promote rational drug use and ensure medication safety.
