Updates in Diagnosis and Treatment of High Virulent Klebsiella Pneumoniae Infection
In the past 30 years,a Klebsiella pneumoniae strain associated with special clinical features has been identified.Infected patients usually present with multiple metastatic abscesses. It was initially prevalent in East Asia, and then spread to the world, causing a great threat to human health. To describe this particular strain,it has been termed hypervirulent Klebsiella pneumoniae, but how to accurately define it remains an unresolved question.Highly virulent Klebsiella pneumoniae may lead to severe septic shock and multiple organ failure.Treatment includes strong anti-infection,organ function support, active blood glucose control and puncture and drainage of abscess site.In this study,we summarized related literature in recent years,in order to better understand and treat the high virulent Klebsiella pneumoniae infection.
