Effects of Dapagliflozin Tablets Combined with Pioglitazone Metformin Tablets on Lipid Metabolism and Oxidative Stress Factors in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus
Objective:To evaluate the effects of dapagliflozin tablets combined with pioglitazone metformin tablets on lipid metabolism and oxidative stress factors in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM).Methods:This retrospective cohort study included 104 patients with T2DM who were admitted to a hospital between January 2021 to December 2023.Patients were divided into two groups based on their treatment regimens:the control group(n=52)received pioglitazone metformin tablets, while the observation group(n=52)received dapagliflozin tablets in addition to the control group. The two groups were compared regarding changes in lipid metabolism, oxidative stress factors, blood glucose levels, insulin levels, and rates of adverse reaction before and after treatment. Results:After treatment, the total cholesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG),low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C),malondialdehyde(MDA),glycosylated hemoglobin(HbA1c),fasting plasma glucose(FPG),and 2-hour postprandial plasma glucose(2hPG)of both groups of patients decreased, and the observation group was lower than the control group(P<0.05).The high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C),glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px),superoxide dismutase(SOD),and fasting insulin and 2-hour postprandial insulin all increased, and the observation group was higher than the control group(P<0.05).During the treatment period, there was no significant differences were observed in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion:Dapagliflozin tablets combined with pioglitazone metformin tablets significantly improves lipid metabolism and reduces oxidative stress in patients with T2DM.This combination therapy is both effective and safe, providing a promising reference for clinical application.
