Analysis of 37 Cases of Adverse Drug Reactions Associated with Iodixanol Injection
Objective:To analyze the occurrence of adverse drug reactions(ADR)associated with iodixanol injection and to provide references for its rational and safe use. Methods:To collect the ADR reports of iodixanol injection submitted to the National Adverse Drug Reaction Monitonring Systerm from January 2019 to February 2024,and to conduct a retrospective analysis on related data such as patient gender, age, route of administration, time of occurrence, involved systems/organs,clinical manifestations, management and outcomes. Results:A total of 37 cases of ADR associated with iodixanol injection were identified, with an incidence rate of 0.3% in females compared 0.23% in males. The patient age was 11~91 years, with the highest number of ADR(11 cases)occurring in patients aged 61~71 years. The incidence of acute ADR within 1h following intravenous administration(13.51% )was higher than that following arterial administration(5.41% ).The involved systems/organs affected by ADR were mainly the skin and its accessories(77.78% ).The prognosis for all cases was favorable. Conclusion:Clinicians should exercise special caution in female patients, receiving intravenous iodixanol injection within 1h,and regarding skin-related adverse reactions. All patients across age groups receiving iodixanol injection should be monitored and protected clinically as necessary, with appropriate preventive and responsive measures implemented to enhance drug safety.
