Study on the Similarities and Differences between Liu Baoyi and Wu Jutong in Treating Dysentery
Objective To analyze the similarities and differences between Doctor Liu Baoyi and Doctor Wu Jutong in treating dysentery;To explore their medication law in treating dysentery.Methods The medical cases of dysentery in Liu Baoyi Yi Lun Yi An and Wu Jutong Yi An were set as research objects.The Excel 2010 software was used to analyze the medication frequency and efficacy classification,and to analyze the similarities and differences of medication law,pathogenesis and treatment methods.Results Doctor Liu Baoyi mainly used qi regulating drugs,hemostatic drugs,qi-tonifying drugs,water-dispelling and dampness-permeating drugs,such as Aucklandiae Radix,Atractyodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma,Aurantii Fructus,Platycodonis Radix,and Amomi Fructus,etc.;Doctor Wu Jutong mainly used heat-clearing drugs,qi-regulating drugs,blood-tonifying drugs,diuresis drugs,and the high-frequency drugs were Scutellariae Radix,Paeoniae Radix alba,Aucklandiae Radix,Coptidis Rhizoma,and Massa Medicata Fermentata,etc.Conclusion Doctor Liu Baoyi and Doctor Wu Jutong have basically the same understanding of the etiology and pathogenesis of dysentery.Doctor Wu Jutong emphasized on eliminating the pathogenic factors at the beginning of the dysentery,mostly used antipyretic drugs and qi regulating drugs.Long-time dysentery has the characteristic of deficiency and excess.The treatment should be tonification and purgation in combination and should strengthen the body resistance.Doctor Liu Baoyi innovatively put forward the view of"Sugou"in the pathogenesis of dysentery,and proposed the method of"Shuhua"in the treatment.
