Visual Analysis on the Literature of Current Status of Acne Research in the TCM Field
Objective To display and analyze the research status,research hotspots and research frontiers of TCM literature on acne based on bibliometric methodology.Methods Literature about acne was retrieved from CNKI,Wanfang Data and VIP databases from Jan.1,2000 to Sep.30,2022.CiteSpace and VOSviewer were used to visually analyze the number of publications,authors,institutions and keywords.Results A total of 9 269 articles were included,and the average annual publication volume showed a fluctuating upward trend.Research teams represented by Yang Liu,Wang Sinong,Wu Jingdong,Li Bin,Qu Jianhua,and others have formed among the core authors.Among them,Yang Liu had the highest number of publications in this field,with a total of 33 papers published;Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine,Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine were the top three institutions in terms of publication;the main research contents were the TCM symptom type research of acne,experience of famous doctors,external treatment methods,and clinical observation of TCM treatment,etc.,and high-frequency keywords included"acupuncture","experience of famous doctors","pricking cupping","TCM mask",etc.;8 clusters were selected.In the past five years,the keywords that emerged were"acne scar","millifire injection","adverse reactions","medication law","compatibility",etc.,which were worthy of attention.Conclusion There are problems in this field of research,such as limited inter institutional cooperation,inconsistent clinical trial diagnosis and efficacy evaluation standards,and insufficient exploration of acne treatment methods in ancient books;TCM acupuncture therapy,data mining of experience of famous doctors,patient outcomes,and the theoretical mechanism and research effect of TCM in acne treatment combined with the pathogenesis of acne in Western medicine may be future research hotspots and trends.
