Jin's Three-Needle Therapy in the Treatment of Dementia:A Meta-analysis
Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy of Jin's three-needle therapy for dementia based on Meta-analysis.Methods Clinical randomized controlled trials(RCTs)related to Jin's three-needle therapy for dementia were retrieved from PubMed,Embase,Web of Science,Cochrane Library,CNKI,VIP,Wanfang Data,China Biology Medicine(CBM)from the establishment of databases to 10th,September 2023.Meta-analysis was finally performed using the RevMan 5.4 software. Results A total of 29 RCTs were included, with a total sample size of 2 231 patients, among which 18 studies reported the clinical total effective rate,25 studies reported the minimum mental state examination(MMSE),13 studies reported the activity of daily living scale(ADL),and 7 studies reported the Hastgawa dementia scale(HDS),6 studies reported the Montreal cognitive assessment(MoCA),5 studies reported the TCM symptom score scale for dementia, and 4 studies reported adverse reactions. The results of Meta-analysis showed that the total effective rate[RR=1.24,95%CI(1.18,1.31),P<0.000 01]of Jin's three-needle for the treatment of dementia was better than that of the control group. In the experimental group,MMSE[MD=3.48,95%CI(2.23,4.73),P<0.000 01],ADL[MD=11.55,95%CI(10.14,12.96),P<0.000 01],HDS[MD=1.91,95%CI(0.49,3.33),P=0.008],MoCA[MD=2.54,95%CI(1.54,3.54),P<0.000 01],TCM symptom score scale for dementia[MD=2.28,95%CI(1.76,2.80),P<0.000 01]were better than the control group. Conclusion The clinical total effective rate of experiment group for dementia is better than that of the control group. The experiment group is better than the control group in improving MMSE score, and works best when the course of treatment is set for 24 days;the Jin's three-needle combined with drug treatment has the best ADL score.Compared with the control group, experiment group is better in improving the scores of MoCA,HDS and TCM symptom score scale for dementia, but more large samples and high-quality clinical trials are still needed to verify it.
