Discussion on Differentiation and Treatment of Ulcerative Colitis Based on the Theory of"Six Stagnation"
Ulcerative colitis(UC)is a chronic inflammatory bowel disease with an obscure cause. This study introduced the diagnostic approach utilizing the concept of"six stagnation"as a pivotal framework, suggesting the pathogenesis commences with qi stagnation, subsequently becoming enmeshed with the central element of dampness stagnation. This is further complicated by blood stagnation, phlegm stagnation, heat stagnation, and food stagnation. The combined action of these kinds of stagnation may then culminate in the attack of UC.For clinical treatment, the primary objective should be the regulation of qi and alleviation of dampness while dynamically adjusting to the evolving pathological conditions.A holistic and versatile therapeutic approach should be applied, which may include invigorating the blood, and resolving phlegm to effectively address these kinds of stagnation.
