This article summarized Professor Li Shunmin's clinical experience in treating lupus nephritis with Shengma Biejia Decoction.Professor Li believes that the fundamental pathogenesis of the disease is spleen-kidney deficiency.It is usually caused by congenital deficiency,kidney essence deficiency,or acquired fatigue and internal injuries,as well as imbalance of qi,blood,and yin and yang,followed by exogenous pathogens,manifested as heat,toxin,dampness and blood stasis.Therefore,the treatment to invigorate the spleen and kidney,clearing heat and detoxicating,promoting blood circulation and inducing diuresis should be used as treatment methods.Shengma Biejia Decoction can be used to clear the heat toxin of blood according to the disease situation,and the decoction should be modified rationally,with obvious efficacy.Moreover,it can effectively avoid adverse reactions and reduce the risk of recurrence,and improve patient prognosis.
