Genealogy is an important part of historical records,which has important academic research value for social and historical research and natural science research.This article summarized the research status of genealogy in TCM from four aspects:research of one's family who has practised medicine for generations,value of genealogy in TCM,research of individual doctors and research in other fields,and then analyzed the problems reflected in the research status quo,pointing out that the main reason was the difficulty in consulting genealogy documents.The digitalization of genealogy would provide technical support for related research.With the comprehensive promotion of genealogy digitalization,the understanding and utilization of genealogy in TCM will surely usher in greater development.It is suggested that relevant scholars in the TCM field should deeply interpret the contents of the text on the basis of collecting and sorting out the original genealogy,and strengthen the research on the excavation and utilization of genealogy.It is also suggested that the relevant government departments of TCM should strengthen the policy inclination and financial support for genealogy research,so as to provide effective guarantee for the comprehensive,systematic and in-depth study of genealogy in TCM.
