Analysis on Carbon Emission Accounting in University Campuses——Taking Jiangsu Urban and Rural Construction Vocational College as an Example
In recent years, with the development of social economy,a large amount of greenhouse gases(CO2,water vapor,N2O,Freon,CH4,etc.)have been emitted into the atmosphere, and the resulting greenhouse effect has become increasingly serious, controlling carbon emissions has become a consensus among all humanity.Achieving carbon peak before 2030 and carbon neutrality before 2060 will become the main theme of coordinated economic and environmental development in China for a considerable period of time in the future. The 14th Five-Year Plan period will become a crucial turning point for China's low-carbon development, and various industries and fields across the country are planning actions. As a base for technological innovation and education, universities shoulder the mission of leading sustainable social development and setting an example in implementing low-carbon actions. At the same time, campuses are also major energy users and carbon emitters.Scientifically regulating the goal and schedule of peak campus carbon emissions and achieving carbon neutrality in sync with the national sustainable development strategy is the social responsibility of universities, and how to reduce campus carbon emissions has become an important research topic for universities today.Taking Jiangsu Urban and Rural Construction Vocational College as an example, combined with the campus operation situation in 2019,this paper uses the carbon emission factor method to calculate the annual carbon emissions, providing practical basis for achieving carbon peak and carbon neutrality in the country as soon as possible.
