Analysis on Geological Characteristics and Genesis of Yaoshi Vanadium Deposit in Mayang County
With its unique physical and chemical properties,vanadium metal is widely used in fields such as steel,aerospace,chemistry,batteries,pigments,glass,optics,and medicine.As a major vanadium resource country,China ranks first in the world in terms of total vanadium resources,production,and consumption.Mayang Miao Autonomous County(abbreviated as Mayang county)is located in the western part of Hunan province,under the jurisdiction of Huaihua city,with abundant mineral resources.Based on the regional geological background,the geological characteristics of Yaoshi vanadium deposit in Mayang county is analyzed,and the genesis of the deposit is clarified.In the study area,the phosphorus bearing nodular carbonaceous shale of the Cambrian Terreneuvian Niutitang Formation is the main occurrence layer of vanadium deposits.From the perspective of ore genesis,Yaoshi vanadium deposit in Mayang county belongs to a biochemical sedimentary deposit.
