Rapid and accurate acquisition of land use change information is the foundation for achieving regional sustainable development.Based on Google Earth Engine(GEE),the land use changes are analyzed in Shanxi province from 1986 to 2022.The results show that the land use classification results obtained by the random forest algorithm have high accuracy,and in Shanxi province,cultivated land,forest land,and grassland are the dominant types of land use;over the past 37 years,the largest change in land use types in Shanxi province has been in construction land,with the main increase in construction land being cultivated land conversion,and the water area has gradually decreased,while the forest and grassland areas have not changed much;the land use level in Shanxi province shows a characteristic of"high in the central region and low in the east and west",mainly influenced by social factors,with the greatest impact being on population size.
