The Hexi region is one of the key agricultural production areas in Gansu Province,with population growth,economic development,and climate change,the local area has faced enormous water resource pressure.Taking the ecological footprint method of water resources as a means,the current situation of sustainable utilization of water resources in Hexi region is analyzed in depth.Data analysis finds that from 2013 to 2022,significant achievements had been made in the sustainable utilization of water resources in the Hexi region,with a significant improvement in agricultural water use efficiency and water resource utilization efficiency.However,the ecological carrying capacity of water resources is insufficient,the supply-demand relationship of water resources is unbalanced,and the water resource pressure index fluctuates greatly,still facing significant challenges.
