Study on Pollution and Partition Characteristics of Heavy Metals in Water and Sediments of Chaohu Lake in Wet Season
To study the degree and distribution characteristics of heavy metal pollution in the water environment of Chaohu lake, water and sediment samples were collected throughout the lake during the wet season. The content, occurrence forms, and distribution characteristics of Cr,Co,Ni,Cu,Zn,As,Cd,Pb,and Hg were analyzed. The results indicate that the concentration of heavy metals in the water of Chaohu lake is relatively low, meeting the strictest limit requirements in the"Environmental Quality Standards for Surface Water"(GB 3838-2002).The exceedance multiples of Cd and Hg in sediments are the highest, with much higher levels in the West Lake area than in other lake areas, mainly in the form of bioavailable substances. The spatial differences in the distribution coefficients of various elements in sediment water bodies are not significant, with As having the lowest distribution coefficient. The remediation of heavy metals in Chaohu lake should pay more attention to the cumulative pollution of Cd and Hg in sediments of Xihu district.
