Nickel resources are mainly divided into sulfide nickel ore,laterite nickel ore,and seabed nickel manganese nodules.With the gradual depletion of sulfide nickel ore,the development and utilization of laterite nickel ore have attracted widespread attention.A systematic review is conducted on the pyrometallurgical treatment process,hydrometallurgical treatment process,and pyrometallurgical hydrometallurgical combined treatment process of serpentine type laterite nickel ore with high silicon and magnesium content.The new research progress of each process at home and abroad is briefly described,and the future development direction of serpentine type laterite nickel ore is also discussed.
