Effects of Fibrid Length on the Performances of Meta-aramid Paper
In this study, the meta-aramid fibrids(referred to as fibrids)with different length were obtained by trough beater, the meta-ara-mid blended papers(referred to as blended papers)were prepared by wet-laid process after mixing with the meta-aramid chopped fibers, and the effects of fibrid length on the performances of blended papers were investigated. The results showed that with the decrease of the fi-brid length, the air permeability of the blended paper first decreased and then increased, the tensile strength, the elongation at break, and the electrical strength first increased and then decreased. When the fibrid length was 0.9 mm,the performances of the blended paper were the best:the air permeability of 2.59 μm/(Pa·s),the tensile strength of 863 N/m,the elongation at break of 2.54%,and the electrical strength of 6.82 kV/mm.
