Preparation and Performance Studies of Organosilicon Modified Waterborne Polyurethane Based Paper Relics Protection Solution
Water-borne polyurethane(WPU)was modified using hydroxypropyl terminated polysiloxane(HP-PDMS)as a mixed soft section.WPU and silicone modified waterborne polyurethane(SIWPU)emulisions were prepared respectively, and the emulisions were diluted 20 times to prepare protective liquid.Xuan paper was used to simulate paper cultural relics. The effects of HP-PDMS dosage in protective solu-tions on the morphology and mechanical properties of xuan paper before and after dry heat aging were explored. The results showed that the particle size of SIWPU emulsion was small and its distribution was narrow. The transmittance ratio of the SIWPU film in the full ultraviolet band was less than 30%,which had a certain UV shielding function. At the same time, the water resistance was improved compared to the pure WPU film.Compared with xuan paper, the tensile index and tear resistance of xuan paper coated with SIWPU liquid could be in-creased by 190.3%and 135.2%,and also possessed great resistance to dry heat aging.
