Study on the Effect of Cellulose Nanofibers on the Surface Properties of Thermal Sublimation Transfer Paper
The impact of cellulose nanofibers(CNF)coating on both surface and printing properties of thermal sublimation transfer base pa-per was investigated in this study. The results showed that with the increase of CNF addition amount in coating, the coating viscosity showed the trend of decreasing and then increasing, when the CNF addition amount was 1%,the coating viscosity was 6.30%lower than that when CNF was not added, and the addition of appropriate amount of CNF was beneficial to the uniform distribution of coating components. With the increase of CNF addition amount in coating, the smoothness, surface strength,Cobb value and transfer rate of the thermal transfer paper showed the trend of increasing and then decreasing, and the drying speed of printing ink had not much changed. When the addition amount of CNF in coating was 2%,the transfer rate of thermal transfer paper reached the highest value(85.41%),which was higher than that of the original paper, the commercially available comparative paper samples and the non-added CNF by 28.46,15.96 and 3.93 percent point,in-dicating that the composite coatings with the addition of CNF could significantly increase the transfer rate of the ink.
