This paper summarized the current status of sewage sludge treatment,especially the advantages of pyrolysis in the sewage sludge treatment process,from the perspective of the sources and treatment methods of sewage sludge,and explored the characteristics of pyrolysis products (bio-oil,biochar,and pyrolysis gas) from sewage sludge and their applications in various fields. The future development trends,opportunities,and challenges of sludge pyrolysis technology were prospected.
