Firstly,the current felt cleaning and conditioning technology and its' evaluation methods in the press section of the papermaking machine were briefly reviewed. Then,the feasibility of evaluating the effect of felt conditioner based on the vaccum degree of the uhle boxes of the press-felts displayed on the DCS system of the papermaking machine was discussed with example. And then the cost and economic benefit of felt conditioner were analyzed. Finally,the necessity of using the felt conditioner and the importance of strengthening the monitor-ing of felts in the press section were summarized.
