Effects of Fiber Properties on the Structure and Properties of Aramid Ⅲ Paper Honeycomb Lattice Materials
In this study,aramid Ⅲ paper honeycomb lattice materials were prepared by aramid Ⅲ chopped fibers,meta-precipitated fibers,and water-based polyimide resin as raw materials.The effects of the length and content of the chopped fibers on the structure,tensile strength,elastic modulus,elongation at break,and tearing strength of lattice materials were investigated.Additionally,the mechanical properties of aramid Ⅲ paper honeycomb lattice materials were predicted through the mechanical property parameters of lattice materials.The results showed that as the chopped fiber length increasing,the tensile strength of the lattice materials initially decreased and subsequent-ly increased,while the elastic modulus increased.The predicted values of the compression and shear properties of the aramid Ⅲ paper hon-eycomb reached their maximum when the of the chopped fiber length was 6 mm.As the chopped fiiber content increasing,the tensile strength and elastic modulus of the lattice materials both increased and then decreased,and reached maximum values of 86.3 MPa and 5 698 MPa,respectively,when the chopped fiber content was 60%.The tearing strength increased and reached maximum value of 1 081 mN,when the chopped fiber content was 90%.At this time,the predicted values of compressive strength of the aramid Ⅲ paper hon-eycomb were the largest,but the predicted values of flat compressive modulus and L-and W-direction shear modulus of the aramid Ⅲ paper honeycomb had the maximum values at 80%of the chopped fiiber content.
