Colorectal cancer is a common malignant tumor of the digestive tract, and its morbidity and mortality rates are increasing year by year.Collagen is a biological macromolecule and an important fibrous protein in mammalian connective tissue, accounting for about one-quarter to one-third of the total protein in the human body.In colorectal tumors, cancer cells continuously in-vade and break through the basement membrane, thereby metastasizing to nearby and distant organs.Collagen,as the main component of tumor matrix,is closely related to the invasion and metastasis of cancer cells in colorectal tumors. This article reviews the structure and general characteristics of collagen, collagen remodeling, collagen and tumor angiogenesis, collagen and immune response, and collagen and colorectal cancer metastasis.
