The pathogenesis of ischemic stroke is complex, involving multiple pathological factors that contribute to its pro-gression and prognosis.Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor γ coactivator-1α (PGC-1α),a crucial nuclear transcription coacti-vator,effectively counteracts damage caused by ischemia and hypoxia, playing a pivotal regulatory role in ischemic stroke.Therefore,PGC-1α is considered a potential therapeutic target for ischemic stroke. This article reviews the research progress on the neuroprotec-tive mechanisms of PGC-1α in ischemic stroke, aiming to provide a theoretical basis for selecting drug treatment targets and offering a scientific reference for further studies.
