Main classification methods of tibial plateau fractures:a review
Tibial plateau fractures are among the most common fractures, mainly caused by high-energy trauma such as traffic accidents and falls, with the characteristics of diverse fracture patterns, difficult clinical treatment, unsatisfactory prognosis, etc.Currently, the diagnosis and treatment of tibial plateau fractures primarily rely on classifying the fractures based on their structural characteristics, followed by the corresponding planning of surgical interventions, aiming to achieve favorable clinical outcomes. Therefore,a simple and scientific classification method that can precisely guide the clinical intervention is of great importance in the treatment of tibial plateau fractures. However, with the advancement of medical imaging technology and the updation of diagnostic and treatment concepts, the methods for tibial plateau fractures classification are continuously being refined.Different classification methods have their own focuses, offering varied values in guiding clinical applications. For this purpose, the authors reviewed the research progress on the main classification of tibial plateau fractures, aiming to provide a reference for their clinical diagnosis and treatment.
