Connotation of minimally invasive anesthesia and its application in surgery for aged patients with critically ill trauma
The elderly patients with critically ill trauma often complicate with multi-organ dysfunction or failure, which particularly affects the circulatory, respiratory, and renal systems, thereby entailing considerable anesthesia risks and heightened postoperative mortality rates. In addressing the selection of anesthesia for surgeries on high-risk patients, scholars home and abroad have advocated the concept of minimally invasive anesthesia and reinforced the implementation of its techniques.Nevertheless,a definitive definition for minimally invasive anesthesia remains elusive.By tracing its evolution, the author initiated a definition for minimally invasive anesthesia and delved into its underlying significance and application in surgeries for elderly patients with severe traumatic injuries so as to provide a reference for the spread of its concept as well as the development and research of novel minimally invasive anesthesia techniques.
