Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo(BPPV)is the most common peripheral vestibular disease.Currently, otolith re-duction is the most simple and effective way to treat BPPV,although some patients have residual dizziness(RD)after successful reduc-tion,which can seriously affect the patient's physical and mental health as well as quality of life.At present, the causes of RD is not completely clear and there lack effective treatment methods. In this paper, literatures on RD in recent years are reviewed, and possible factors leading to RD as well as treatment methods analyzed and summarized,in a hope to provide basis for developing standardized and individualized treatments of RD after reduction of BPPV patients.
