The Hippo signaling pathway is highly conserved evolutionarily and plays an important role in con-trolling cell proliferation and differentiation, regulating tissue size and facilitating the process of injury repair. It has been found that the Hippo signaling pathway is expressed in hair cells, and the activity and expression of its key mem-bers can regulate various processes, including the expression of inflammatory factors, oxidation levels and hair cell pro-liferation.In mammals, damage to hair cells can lead to irreversible sensorineural hearing loss. Thus, current therapeutic strategies for the restoration of sensorineural hearing loss are based on reducing hair cell damage, inducing the prolifera-tion and transformation of supporting cells and sensory epithelial cells,as well as stem cell transformation, all of which enable hair cell regeneration. This review aims to summarize the role of the Hippo signaling pathway in hair cell injury and regeneration, with the goal of providing new insights and ideas for effective hair cell regeneration.
