The Hippo/Yap signaling pathway is extensively implicated in auditory system development, hearing injury repair, and auditory system disorders. The regulation of Yap during embryonic development may result in mor-phological and functional defects of the hearing organ. The Hippo/Yap signaling pathway is involved in processes relat-ed to hearing system injury and diseases by interacting with a wide range of signaling molecules, which are influenced by the JNK signaling pathway, the Wnt signaling system, and mechanical signal transduction. This review covers the de-velopment in Hippo/Yap signaling pathway research in regard to the auditory system,to hopefully provide novel ideas for understanding the molecular biological process and developing therapeutic therapies for various forms of hearing loss.
