Steady promotion of a new round of urban village transformation in megacities is a powerful measure to implement the decisions and arrangements of the Party Central Committee and the State Council,and to strive to advance the Chinese-style modernization strategy.This article uses CiteSpace software to sort out the relevant research on urban village transformation in China in the past twenty years.It is found that the research on the transformation of urban villages in very large and mega cities has shifted from the early focus on the establishment of mechanisms and reconstruction models of urban villages to the innovation of institutions and mechanisms focusing on the renewal governance,micro-renovation and historical and cultural protection of urban villages.The three aspects of the discussion include subjects and interests,problems and difficulties,and land and rights.At the value level,there is a shift from the pursuit of spatial efficiency to spatial equity.At the method level,the emphasis is shifted from qualitative analysis to quantitative analysis.At the path level,the emphasis is shifted from single demolition to multi-governance,and future research on the transformation of urban villages in megacities should adhere to equal emphasis on theoretical research and practical research,focusing on institutional innovation and path exploration.
