Problems and Reflections on the Construction of Child-Friendly Environment in Chinese Cities
With the gradual deepening of the concept of child-friendliness,the construction of child-friendly environment has received more and more attention in urban development. However, there is still a lack of in-depth understanding of how the construction is progressing and what problems exist. This paper attempts to fill this gap to analyze the problems of urban child-friendly environment construction in China. It built an indicator system according to the National Development and Reform Commission's"Guidance on Promoting the Construction of Child-Friendly Cities",and used the questionnaire survey data of 10 pilot cities. The results show that(1)the facilities and space that directly serve children in Chinese cities need to be improved urgently;(2)the support of public space for children is insufficient;(3)there is a lack of careful consideration of the needs of different children;(4)the problems in large cities and central urban areas are more prominent.Based on this, this paper puts forward some suggestions for the construction of child-friendly environment in China.
