In recent years, architectural heritage protection has become an important global issue, and the adoption mechanism as a new model has gradually attracted attention. However, most domestic adoption models are regarded as a sub-dimension of social forces participating in architectural heritage protection. There is a lack of in-depth discussion on it as a core issue, and there is still a lack of systematic evaluation of the characteristics and differences of domestic and foreign architectural heritage policies using mature policy evaluation methods. This study uses the S-CAD policy evaluation method to explore the differences in architectural heritage adoption mechanisms in India, the United States,Italy and Australia, and analyzes its implications for China. From the perspectives of subjectivity, consistency, sufficiency and dependence,it proposes to strengthen the leading role of provincial governments, clarify the legal objectives of different architectural heritages, refine the application process, supervise the entire maintenance cycle, establish a multi-dimensional incentive mechanism for social capital participation, strengthen feedback management and disciplinary measures,in order to improve the integrity, systematicness of the domestic architectural heritage adoption mechanism and update the current architectural heritage adoption mechanism.
