Experimental Study on the Influence of Outdoor Unit Protective Grille on Energy Efficiency of Air Conditioning in Summer Operation
The energy efficiency rating of air-conditioning equipment is typically the focal point for individuals, with less attention often given to the impact of the installation method of the outdoor unit on the actual operational energy efficiency of the air-conditioning system. In actuality, the energy efficiency of the entire system is significantly influenced by the configuration of the protective grille of the air-conditioning outdoor unit.As such,it becomes particularly vital to enhance the design and installation of the protective grille effectively in order to lower the energy consumption of air conditioners. To address the issue of inadequate ventilation and air exchange capability of the protective grille on the traditional outdoor air conditioning unit,a type of energy-efficient ventilation protection grille was conceptualized. Its efficacy in enhancing the energy efficiency ratio and energy conservation of the system was verified through experimental validation. The outcomes revealed that, when maintaining an average summer temperature of 35℃,this energy-saving protective grille can reduce energy consumption by 33%,and elevate the system's cooling energy efficiency by 59%when compared to the traditional protective grille. The experimental results demonstrated the effectiveness of the protective grille outlined in this paper in enhancing the performance of outdoor air-conditioning systems featuring a recessed installation design.
